Another new format was introduced in 1988: the CD Video. Not content with the success of 'regular' CD's, record companies also came with a CD single that could also play a video when inserted into a CD Video player. This was an analogue video system, so all these discs have now become useless as CD Video players are no longer made. When you're lucky, you can get hold of a Laserdisc player and it should still accept these discs.
Back in 1988 I actually had access to a CD Video player because my mum bought one out of a small inheritance. The good news is: all the audio tracks are still working in CD players, and so this disc is still worth owning. The gold color of the disc is a nice bonus, too...
